Norman R. Senecal, 86

Marlborough - Norman R. "Bucko" Senecal, 86, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007 at Wingate at Sudbury after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Eleanor (Lewis) Senecal, who died in 2002.

He leaves his children, Alexander Senecal; Jon Senecal and his wife, Anne Mattina; Norma Machado; Martha Hassett and her husband, James Hunt; Regina Vachon and her husband, Richard; and Ann Marsh and her husband, James. He also leaves his siblings, Albert Senecal and Rita Oddy; 10 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.

Born in Marlborough, the son of Alexander and Blanche (Toupin) Senecal, he was a lifelong resident of the city. He attended Marlborough schools and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, receiving a Purple Heart.

Mr. Senecal was head of maintenance for several years at Automated Specialties in Marlborough. Previously, he was store manager for over 15 years at the former Walcott and Avey Package Store on Lincoln Street in Marlborough, as well as a shift foreman at the former Marlboro Wire Goods.

He was a member of St. Matthias Church, a member and former sergeant at arms of the Marlborough Rotary Club, and a former call fireman for the city of Marlborough.

Funeral services were held Aug. 27 from the John P. Rowe Funeral Home of Marlborough, with burial at St. Mary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the City of Marlborough - Eleanor M.
