'The Amazing Race' by Corridor Nine
This year the Chamber of Commerce has sent a special invitation to all high school track teams in central Massachusetts to compete in this year's race. Corridor Nine will award a trophy to the high school track team that has the fastest time in the race. This race has become a trademark event during the town of Northborough's Applefest weekend and attracts over 300 participants. "Our goal for the race is to provide a great running venue in conjunction with the town of Northborough's community celebration," said Dave Jacobs, who is the race director for Corridor Nine. "Not only do we invite the track teams from the region to participate, we welcome all runners, joggers and walkers to join us for the best 5K challenge around." Any runner that preregisters for the race prior to Friday Sept. 7 will receive the coveted race T-shirt. Also, individual prizes are awarded to top finishers in each division. Runners will also be treated to refreshments while waiting for the final race results. The race course is a complete loop along the scenic back roads of Northborough. Any runner that would like to participate in the race can download the race application from the Chamber of Commerce Web site at www.corridornine. org or can call the Corridor Nine Chamber at 508-836-4444. The preregistration fee is $15 if the entry form is received before Friday Sept. 7. After Sept. 7, the fee is $20. |
