City candidates come forward

Marlborough - It's been said that apathy is the enemy of democracy. If that is the case, then democracy is alive and well in the Marlborough. In anticipation of the Nov. 6 city election, more than two dozen candidates have filed papers to enter the race.

The bulk of the contests will be for seats on the School Committee and the City Council, but current Mayor Nancy Stevens will also be in a race against firefighter Patrick Hogan for the city's top post.

Regardless of how it all shakes out, it appears that city voters will have one of the most diverse rosters of candidates to choose from in recent memory.
