Break-A-Thon Sept. 15
Choson
Taekwondo in Northborough will host a fund-raising event during this year's
Applefest celebration Saturday, Sept. 15. Students from Choson will participate
in a Break-A-Thon at their booth and demonstration area on Blake Street. During
the event, each participant will break 10 boards, from 1/2-inch to 1-inch thick,
using a variety of techniques. Funds raised through student pledges will benefit
the Northborough D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program. Instructors
will also be at the street fair booth to teach the public how to break a board

Gallery opens new exhibit
"Inconsolable - Reflections on Life, Love and Loss" is the featured
exhibition of mixed media collages by Joanne Russavage at the Westboro Gallery.
On display through Nov. 11, the show will have its opening reception Sunday,
Sept. 9, 2-5 p.m. Russavage, a former Westborough native, works in textiles and
fibers with related embellishments, such as beads, embroidery and found objects
to create wall quilts and other arts pieces. Since 1998, the mission of the
Westboro Gallery, a notfor profit cooperative, has been to bring art to the
community and to support its members, enabling them to show and sell their work.
The Westboro Gallery is located just off the rotary at 8 West Main St.
Feng shui discussion Sept. 19

'Bead Fiesta' rolls into Marlborough
"Bead Fiesta," the bead and jewelry show, returns to Marlborough
Friday-Sunday, Sept. 7, 8 and 9, at the Holiday Inn & Suites, 265 Lakeside
Ave. (Exit 24A, off Route 495). Show hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday
and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Bead Fiesta is open to the
public, and attendees can enjoy a vast array of exhibitors offering everything

Fine Art is hosting an exhibit by cubist artist Stephanie Clair through Oct. 27.

forget. The artist's technique is a delicate blend of color, technique,
imagination and cubism meant to evoke mystery and emotion. Her goal is to
challenge the viewer's eye and mind, as you get lost in a three-dimensional
world of people passion and beauty. Gallery hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays,
