Come to the fun-filled Spirit of Shrewsbury Fall Festival

Shrewsbury - The annual Spirit of Shrewsbury will be held Friday Sept. 28 through Sunday Sept. 30. Friday events include:

The Council on Aging will be sponsoring a Senior Center Open House, which will kick off the weekend. From noon to 3 p.m., people of all ages will have the opportunity to visit the facility, meet the staff , find out about the center's services and view group demonstrations. Be sure to sign up for lunch.

The Artist Guild of Shrewsbury will sponsor an Art Exhibit Reception from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Senior Center. Come view the exhibit and talk to the artists. Refreshments will be served. Work will be for sale. Help support the arts in our community. The show itself runs through Friday Oct. 12 and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

"Harvest Fest" will be sponsored by the Child Development Committee. This family event will include crafts, food, music and more. Come to the Floral Street School from 6:30 to 8 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $2.50 per person or $10 maximum per family.

Continuing events include the Scarecrows on the Common Contest and Display, which runs through Friday Oct. 19 on the Town Common. It's a 24-hour display sponsored by the Shrewsbury Garden Club and the Spirit of Shrewsbury Fall Festival.
