Over-staying its welcome?

Shrewsbury - Local residents are up in arms against a building project that has been proposed for a two-acre wooded lot at the intersection of Route 9 and Lake Street. The plan calls for a four-story 121-suite extended stay Value Place Hotel. The door was opened for this last year when the parcel was rezoned from residential to commercial at Town Meeting in November.

While the new zoning would permit the hotel to be built, it clearly was not what some nearby residents had in mind when the rezoning was approved.
