Michael Caduto, master storyteller, author, musician PHOTO/JOHN SHELDON
Hudson - Master storyteller, author, ecologist and musician Michael Caduto visited Hudson Public Schools from Oct. 2 to 5, culminating in a public performance at the Hudson Town Hall Friday Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Caduto was invited to the area as part of the Hudson Area Arts Alliance Community Arts Series, which includes performances geared towards families and adults, and often includes performances at area schools, providing children with enriching educational arts experiences. The purpose of the Arts Alliance is to promote the growth and development of the arts in the greater Hudson- Marlborough area.

Caduto's accomplishments include the New England Award for Excellence in Environmental Education and several awards for his books. He is the founder of Programs for Environmental Awareness and Cultural Exchange (PEACE). PEACE's mission is to provide education through outdoor experiences, publications and conservation services that focus on nature, culture, human interaction, and the relationships between people and the environment.

Caduto will perform "Keepers of the Earth: Completing the Circles of Life," which uses songs, chants, Native American musical instruments, dance and stories from native cultures throughout North America, and incorporates several humorous and dramatic characters.

Caduto's performance advocates environmental stewardship. The audience will experience the Native American view of life: a balanced, sustainable existence with Mother Earth.

Tickets at the door are $10 for adults and $7 for students and seniors. If ordered in advance, seats are $8 and $5 respectively. To order tickets call the Arts Alliance at 978-562-1646. For more information, visit www.upwitharts.org
