Joanne C. Clemons, 72

Westborough - Joanne C. Clemons, 72, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 at the UMass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus in Worcester.

She leaves her husband, Edward Clemons; her children and their spouses, Mark and Gayle Clemons, Amy and David D'Avia, and David and Tara Clemons; her brothers, Charles Cole and Frederick Cole; her brother-in-law, Arthur Clemons and his wife, Shirley; and her grandchildren, Andrew Clemons, Vanessa Clemons, Heather Clemons, Allison Clemons and Jessica Clemons. She was also the mother of the late Anne Clemons.

Born in Worcester, the daughter of Charles and Effie (Harris) Cole, she was educated in Leominster schools and graduated from Fitchburg State College.

Mrs. Clemons was employed as a third-grade teacher at the Hastings Elementary School before retiring in 1998.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church; enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking; and was dedicated to her entire family.

Funeral services were held Oct. 3 from the First United Methodist Church of Westborough, with burial at Pine Grove Cemetery. The Rand- Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home directed arrangements.
