Eleanor L. Chandnoit Somersworth - Eleanor L. (Godsoe) (Pelletier) Chandnoit of High Street, died early Monday morning, Oct. 1, 2007 at her residence. She was the widow of Jules Pelletier and Philip Chandnoit. She is survived by her children, Beverly Johansen and her husband, Chris; Edward Pelletier and his wife, Kathy; and Diane White and her significant other, Gary Cook. She also leaves her brother, Donald Godsoe Sr.; her grandchildren, Charlene Nutile, Brenda Johansen, Beverly Johansen II, William White, Brad White, Katie Pelletier and Bruce French; her great-grandchildren, Alexander Nutile, Julianna Nutile, Benjamin Kelley, Morgan Merrill, Bruce French and Aylson French; her cousin, Barbara Frazier; and nieces and nephews. Born in Belmont, the daughter of Clarence and Sarah (Daley) Godsoe, she was a resident of Somersworth for the past 30 years, having moved from Waltham. Mrs. Chandnoit worked for Raytheon and Infrared Industries, Inc. of Massachusetts prior to moving to New Hampshire. She retired from a local company after years of dedicated service, and had also managed Indigo Hill Apartments with her late husband, Philip Chandnoit, and later with her daughter, Diane White, until 2003. Her life centered around her family. From running errands to coff ee at Dunkin Donuts with her daughter, Diane; Saturday morning visits from her son, Edward, and daily conversa- tions with occasional weekend visits from her daughter, Beverly; or a trip to Massachusetts, "Ellie" was just happy to be with her family. She enjoyed trips to Foxwoods with her children and a traditional "shop 'til you drop" day with her daughters after Thanksgiving. She was a prominent influence in her children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's lives, especially her grandsons, William and Brad White. She will be lovingly remembered for her generosity, great sense of humor and kind, sweet smile. She will be sadly missed by all, but especially her brother, Donnie, who enjoyed his brotherly conversations with her about his "Foundation." Funeral services were held Oct. 5 at Wiggin-Purdy-Mc- Cooey-Dion Funeral Home of Dover, N.H. with Rev. Kenneth Monahan officiating. |
