Carol E. Baker, 73

Marlborough - Carol E. Baker, 73, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007 at Coleman House of Northborough after a period of declining health.

She leaves her husband of 53 years, Frederick Baker, and her sons, Robert Baker and his wife, Denise; Mark Baker and his wife, Pamela; and Jeffrey Baker and his wife, Susan. She also leaves her siblings, Charles Shafer and Virginia Parker; her sister-in-law, Judith Reynolds; and her grandchildren, Nicole, Erika, Brandy, Stephen and Julia Baker.

Born in Ceilings Grove, Penn., the daughter of Howard and Pearl (Woodling) Shafer, she lived in Marlborough for the past 48 years.

Mrs. Baker was a secretary for many years at the Independent Cable Co. of Hudson. Previously, she was a secretary at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School in Marlborough.

Funeral services were held Oct. 9 from the John P. Rowe Funeral Home of Marlborough, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Mass. Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
