Community Land Trust to hold photography contest
Exhibit of 'Westborough's Natural Treasures' to run Nov. 11 to 18

Westborough - Nature photographers of all ages are invited to enter a juried photography contest, "Westborough's Natural Treasures," sponsored by the Westborough Community Land Trust (WCLT). The photographs must be taken in Westborough of natural subjects, such as landscapes, flora or wildlife; area photographers are encouraged to capture the town's natural beauty for their entries.

The exhibition will be held Sunday Nov. 11 through Saturday Nov. 18 at the Westborough Public Library, 55 West Main St.

The photographs should be color or black-and-white, with no digital enhancement, and at least 5" by 7" before matting. All entries must be matted (no frames) with the photographer's name, phone number, the photograph's title and location on the back. Each photographer may submit up to five photos. Selected photos will be exhibited.

Contest entries are be delivered to the Westborough Library (Parkman Street entry) Monday through Thursday, Nov. 5- 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. or on Saturday Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon. All photographs must be picked up Sunday, Nov. 18 between noon and 3 p.m.

Awards will be given for Best of Show (first, second and third) plus a Popular Vote Award (chosen by exhibition visitors.) For details about the photo contest and an entry form, visit www.westboroughlandtrust. org or call 508-366- 0312 for more information.

"Westborough's Natural Treasures" is the first photography contest to be sponsored by the WCLT. The contest celebrates the natural environment of Westborough to mark the 10th anniversary of the organization.

WCLT is a private, nonprofit member-supported organization with the goal of safeguarding land to meet the environmental, recreational, agricultural and scenic needs of the town of Westborough and to preserve open space and the character of the land. To date, WCLT has preserved more than 128 acres of land and has created 40 miles of Charm Bracelet trails throughout Westborough.
