Stanley J. Staniunas, 79

Hudson - Stanley J. Staniunas, 79, a lifelong resident of Hudson, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007 at UMass Medical Center - University Campus in Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 47 years, Patricia (Chaplick) Staniunas; his children, Jane Marrama and her husband, William, and Christine Fellrath and her husband, Richard, his brothers, Joseph Staniunas and John Staniunas; and nieces and nephews.

Born in Hudson, the son of Charles and Petronia (Poulauskas) Staniunas, he attended the Marianapolis Prep School, graduating in 1947, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Ko- rean War.

Mr. Staniunas worked at the W.R. Grace Co. in Acton as a quality control supervisor for 30 years before retiring.

He was a member of St. Michael's Parish in Hudson and St. Michael's Choir. He was also active with the Hudson Senior Citizens Center, a volunteer with the Meals on Wheels program in Hudson and a member of the V.F.W. in Hudson.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated October 12 from St. Michael's Church, with burial with military honors at St. Michael's Cemetery. Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home of Hudson directed arrangements.
