Virginia Mary Adams, 87 Hudson - Virginia Mary Adams, 87, fondly known as "Mom," "Jean" and "Gramma Jean," died peacefully in her home Friday, Oct. 12, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 64 years, William Adams, died Jan. 4, 2007. She leaves her daughters, Diana Adams Woodruff and Jonathan Robbins; Kathleen Bourneuf and her husband, Peter; Mary Ketola and her husband, John; and Patricia Adams, and her sons, Charles Adams; William Adams and his wife, Sue; and Stephen Adams and his wife, Elizabeth. She also leaves her grandchildren, Christopher Woodruff, Dr. Eino Ketola, Karl Ketola, Abby O'Brien, Anna Whipple, Mark Adams, Molly Adams, Sophie Adams, Daniel Adams, Rachel Adams, Thomas Adams, Michael Adams, Rebekah Adams and Sarah Adams; her great-grandchildren, Christian and Ainsley Woodruff ; her siblings, Mary Rose Diani, Ambrosina Coache, Teresa Benziger and Francis Diani; and nieces and nephews. She was born Aug. 29, 1920, the daughter of Peter and Antoinetta (Bertoni) Diani. A was a lifelong resident of Hudson and a devout catholic, she graduated from St. Michael's Academy and was a member of St. Michael's Parish in Hudson. Mrs. Adams was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family, husband and children were her first priority and very important to her. She greatly enjoyed her family and numerous family gatherings over the years. A beautiful, sweet and loving grandmother and great-grandmother, she was very generous with her time, spending it with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very creative and energetic woman who enjoyed gardening, yard work and home repair work, as well as painting, sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking. She and her late husband, Bill, managed a family variety store for many years. They sold fresh produce from their garden in their store. Mrs. Adams had the honor of being crowned Apple Blossom Queen in 1941. A beautiful and caring woman, she will be deeply missed by the family she loved and who loved her. A funeral mass was held Oct. 17 from St. Michael's Church, with burial at St. Michael's Cemetery. Hays Funeral Home of Northborough directed arrangements.
