Renowned local photographer visits Tatnuck

B.A. King chats with visitors to his Oct. 13 booksigning at Tatnuck. PHOTO/SUBMITTED
Westborough - On Oct. 13, renowned photographer B.A. King, a Southborough resident, was greeted by several dozen photography fans at Tatnuck Bookseller, Gift Gallery and Café, in Westborough.

King's remarkable new book, "The Oak Behind the House," contains photographs and text that chronicle the life of a 400-year-old red oak that resides in the backyard of his family's Southborough home. The photographic journey documents the role the massive tree has played in the King family's life over the years. Struck by the tree's beauty and presence, King documented the tree photographically over the course of 30 years, through all the seasons and in every kind of light. As those around the tree grew and changed, the red oak remained a steady presence through all of life's milestones.

King also brought along other large samples of his work to discuss with the audience, who stayed captivated by the photographer for more than two hours.
