Peter A. Delaney, 82
West Dennis - Peter A. Delaney, 82, formerly of Marlborough, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007 at Epoch of Harwich after a period of declining health.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Kathleen (O'Loughlin) Delaney; his son, Brian Delaney; his daughters, Susan Delaney, Elizabeth Delaney, Maureen Donnelly and her husband, Kevin, and Sheila Ehst and her husband, Mark; his siblings, William Delaney, Marie Delaney and Joanne LaFleur; and four grandchildren.

Born in Marlborough, the son of Peter and Mary (Boland) Delaney, he was a 1942 graduate of Marlborough High School and received his degree in accounting from Burdett College in 1950. He was a U.S. Army Signal Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific theater. He lived in Marlborough for most of his life before moving to West Dennis in 2002, and enjoyed Naples, Fla. in the winter and Cape Cod in the summer.

Mr. Delaney worked as an accountant for several firms in the Boston area, retiring in 1982.

A member of Pope Pius X Church in South Yarmouth, he was a volunteer for the VNA thrift shop on the Cape and Habitat for Humanity in Florida. He also enjoyed playing golf.

Funeral services were held Oct. 24 from the John P. Rowe Funeral Home of Marlborough, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
