John I. Kenney, 63 He leaves his wife, Eunice (Whitehead) Kenney, and his children, John Kenney; Tina Manning and her husband, David; Philip Kenney and his wife, Leslie; and Sarah Jennings and her husband, JD. He also leaves his granddaughter, Sorcha Larssen, who made her home with him; his grandson, Jason Kenney; his siblings, Terrence Kenney, Peter Kenney, Jean Kenney and Natalie Kenney; his nieces, Moira and Caitlin Kenney; and aunts, uncles and cousins. Born in Marlborough, the son of late Marlborough Fire Chief John Kenney and Rose (La- Couture) Kenney, he attended Marlborough High School. Mr. Kenney served as a Marlborough firefighter from April 1966 until his retirement in 1992. For many years, he and friends enjoyed hunting deer with a bow and arrow, always saying that the deer were safe from him. He loved being in the outdoors, and was well known for cooking a hearty breakfast at the hunting camp. He volunteered at local hospitals and enjoyed going to flea markets. A memorial service was held Oct. 21 from the Slattery Funeral Home of Marlborough. Memorial donations may be made to the Firemen's Relief Fund, 215 Maple St., Marlborough, MA 01752. |
