"Hey ... they've got the place surrounded"

Northborough - With 174 applicants for five open positions on the Northborough police force, Police Chief Mark Leahy and his department will be able to pick from the cream of the crop. First, the applicant pool was whittled down to the 48 top candidates, while the physical trimmed the list even further. The remaining 22 will be interviewed next week.

Two of the open positions are current vacancies, and three will be funded by mitigation money from the developer of the Loop retail and AvalonBay housing developments.
