Shrewsbury - David Cassanelli, owner of Cassa Stone at 516 Boston Turnpike Road in Shrewsbury, prides himself on off ering customers superior quality stonework and customer service. Cassanelli has spent 23 years working in the industry both in his hometown of Shrewsbury and in Florida. He has established a flawless reputation for off ering the highest quality imported marble, granite, travertine and limestone from all over the world.

Cassanelli revolutionized the industry by off ering "one-stop shopping" at his showroom.

"We used to take a customer to a slab yard," Cassanelli said, and the process was often time consuming.

Instead, Cassa Stone off ers an on-site stone yard, inhouse fabrication and a showroom displaying countless slab samples for the clients' convenience.

His innovative vision led Cassanelli to the stone quarries and factories in Italy to learn about the process of mining and then polishing the stone.

"It was amazing to stand in the quarries where Michelangelo's sculptures still stand," Cassanelli said.

From fabrication to installation, Cassa Stone provides clients with a highly trained in-house crew of designers and craftsmen. The on-site fabrication team has the experience and expertise to fabricate any shape or service that a client can imagine. Cassa Stone offers an unlimited variety of tiles to accommodate designs for fireplaces, showers, flooring, tub surrounds, kitchen and bath countertops and much more. And all of the stones are polished flawlessly.

"You can get stones anywhere," Cassanelli said, "but the shine on these stones is unmatchable."

Stones are gathered from all over the world, but, Cassanelli explained, not all countries have technology capable of getting the best polish. For example, countries like Brazil have beautiful rare stones, he said, but they just do not have the technology to polish them. In order to guarantee a high quality shine on all of his stones, Cassanelli buys from all over the world and ships them to Italy.

"Italy has the best technology [for preparing the stone]," Cassanelli said.

Cassa Stone installs stone for various budgets, but the company has established a reputation for importing exotic specialty stones that Cassanelli admitted are a bit more expensive.

"You can only get certain stones from particular areas of the world … Stones, like diamonds, are sold based upon availability," he said.

The showroom off ers stones such as "Tiger Eyes" from Brazil, marble from Italy, "Emerald Pearl" from Norway and "Labrador Antique" from Finland.

The design team at Cassa Stone works with architects, homeowners, contractors and interior designers to coordinate the stone design with the overall design of the project. As a leader in the stone industry in New England, Cassa Stone's goal is to guarantee complete customer satisfaction on all projects from conception to completion.

Cassa Stone's stonework has been positively critiqued by several design magazines. "City Living" magazine complimented Cassa Stone for the precision with which it installed the stone surfaces in one of the featured kitchens.

With the holidays approaching, it is time to stop into Cassa Stone and consider giving your bathroom, kitchen or fireplace a facelift. Cassanelli off ers a five-business day turn-around time on all projects.
