Ruth Katz, 86

Westborough - Ruth (Sobel) Katz, 86, died at home Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007 after a long illness. Her husband, Milton Katz, died in 1957.

She leaves her children and their spouses, Michael and Maxine Katz, Joanne and Dr. William Pollack, Renee and Harold Rudnick, and Marlene and Darrell Sharpe; her brother, Harold Sobel; her grandchildren, Lauren, Kim, Matthew, Michelle, Jessica, Lissa, Marlyse, Beth, Terry and B.J.; and her greatgrandchildren, Jared and Alex.

Born in Worcester, the daughter of Max and Ida (Lonstein) Sobel, she was a lifelong resident.

Mrs. Katz was a member of Congregation B'nai Shalom in Westborough, the Worcester Chapter of Hadassah, the National Council of Jewish Women and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Jewish Healthcare Center, and was formerly a longtime member of Temple Emanuel.

Foremost, she was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Funeral services were held Oct. 25 from the Perlman Funeral Home of Worcester, with burial in B'nai Brith Cemetery, Worcester.
