Marlborough - Marguerite Buisson of Marlborough recently celebrated her 100th birthday with 135 relatives and friends.
The celebration began with a Mass of Thanksgiving concelebrated by Rev. Stephen Gemme and Rev. Larry Martineau at St. Bernadette's Church in Northborough, followed by a party at the Holiday Inn in Marlborough.
In attendance were family and friends who traveled from California, Colorado, Nebraska, Florida, Georgia, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
Marguerite is the mother of Lorraine Lesieur of Marlborough, Paul Buisson of Cranston, R.I., and Donald Buisson of Sunrise, Fla. She has 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was married for 49 years to Armand Bussion before he passed away in 1977.
Marguerite has two living sisters, Mary Luz of Marlborough and Theresa Dupree of Hudson.
She says her secret to longevity is her VO Manhattan straight up and not worrying about the things she has no control over.
Marguerite was the 2004 Marlboro Senior Citizen of the year.
