Paul M. Leahey, 72

Marlborough - Paul M. Leahey, 72, died at home Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 after a lengthy illness.

He leaves his wife of 29 years, Janet (Devoe) Leahey, and his children, JoAnne McLaughlin and her fiancé, Jason Carmichael; Erin Sees and her husband, Dan; Thomas Leahey; Shawn Leahey; and Maureen Cordella and her husband, Christopher. He also leaves his sister, Agnes Early; his grandchildren, Megan McLaughlin, Trent Demers, Melissa Cordella and Kevin Cordella; and nieces and nephews.

Born in Boston, the son of Thomas and Agnes (Kehoe) Leahey, he was a resident of Marlborough for over 40 years. He graduated from Dorchester High School for Boys in 1952 and, while at school, joined the U.S Army ROTC program. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Leahey was the supervisor of all building maintenance for the Massachusetts State Police, out of Framingham, for 32 years, before retiring in 2001. He was a licensed construction supervisor in Massachusetts for over 30 years.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, American Legion Post 462 of Boston and Local 254 of the Service Employee International Union of Boston, as well as an honorary member of the Mass. Troopers Inc.

He loved his Irish heritage and enjoyed singing all the old Irish songs and ballads. Most of all, he loved his wife and family and his beloved Marine Corps: "Semper Fi."

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, from the John P. Rowe Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Marlborough, with a 10 a.m. mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St. Burial with military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
