Barsoum wins Contractor of the Year award A rising star in the world of kitchen and bath design, Mariette Barsoum, CKD, owner of Divine Kitchens, accepted two awards at the National Association of Remodeling Industries (NARI) COTY Awards in Boston this month. Divine Kitchens received first place for Kitchen Design Under $50K (a Shrewsbury project) and another for a Marlborough kitchen project in the $50-100K category. Marlborough Courtyard Marriott celebrates customer appreciation day Marlborough Courtyard Marriott recently held a customer appreciation party to thank everyone for a great first year. According to Sandra Miller, area director of sales, the event was meant to provide fun with the holidays coming soon, and attendees had an opportunity to learn how to fold napkins and create simple centerpieces for their tables, as well as learn recipes for fun appetizers, cup cake decorating and how to make the perfect apple martini. The party drew about 125 people from the business community and some of the Marlborough Courtyard Marriott's social catering customers, who are planning their wedding, bar/bat mitzvahs and holiday parties.

SAT prep classes announced
SAT prep classes will be held January/February and March/ April by Mary Ellen Wolfe of Math Smart and Don McMillan, verbal and writing instructor. 'New Ground' opens at Post Road Art Center The opening
reception of "New Ground," art by Randi Isaacson, will be held Thursday, Dec. 6,
from 5:30-8:30 p.m., at the Post Road Art Center, 1 Boston Post Rd. East,
Marlborough. "New Ground" is a series of paintings of Provincetown depicting the
harbor and lush dunes of the Cape Cod town. Isaacson, owner of the Post Road Art
Center, is a certified picture framer and holds a B.A. in fine art from Colorado
College. "New Ground" can be viewed during regular gallery hours, Mondays
