Talking turkey
Region - Shrewsbury High School put the finishing touches on arguably their best regular season ever, 11-0, with a 15-7 win over Milford on Thanksgiving Day. The 1946 Cols went 9-0-1. This year's team can put a cap on that as they head to the playoff s and could finish 13-0.
From start to end, it was pretty much all Westborough High as the Rangers defeated Algonquin Regional, 18-0, in their 55th meeting Thanksgiving morning. Westborough's Scott Brady had a big game, scoring a pair of touchdown runs and also a game-cinching interception. The Rangers finish 5-6, Algonquin 4-7.
St. John's shut down St. Peter-Marian, 17-6, in their 83rd traditional match. After St. Peter-Marian opened the scoring in the first quarter, the Pioneers responded with second-quarter scores by Brendan Coyne and Evan Wheeler. Pat Lowe's fourth-quarter field goal put the clincher on it. The Pioneers finish 7-4 but lose out in a bowl bid on a tiebreaker.
