Laurene Aldorisio dancer wins scholarship

Jessica Steurer, a 14-year-old freshman at Westborough High School, recently attended the Headliners Dance Convention. She was chosen as one of the top four dancers to receive a full scholarship to Peridance International Center on Broadway in New York City. Steurer is in her 12th year of dance at Laurene Aldorisio's Academy of Dance Expressions, located at 180 Turnpike Rd., Westborough. She studies dance vigorously by taking ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, and leaps, turns and jumps. Also, each year, she takes part in the annual performance. She has earned high gold status at competitions, performs in the Boston Dance Company's "Nutcracker" and continues to expand her education by taking classes at Dean College.

SAT classes begin in January

Math Smart and Educational Direction have joined forces to off er limited-enrollment SAT Prep classes taught by a pair of educators with a combined 35 years of high school teaching experience. The small-group sessions, which begin in January, will be held at Tatnuck Booksellers in Westborough throughout the winter and spring. Private sessions are also available to help with Math, English, SAT, and college essays and applications.

Christmas trees, greens available at Wolf Hill Farm

Wolf Hill Farm in Southborough invites the community to stop by for hot mulled cider and cookies. Now in its 29th year, the farm has Christmas trees and decorated balsam wreaths, advent wreaths and all kinds of holiday greens available in its Christmas Barn, as well as table runners, tea cozies and scented hot pads. Also this year, Wolf Hill Farm is featuring quilted tree skirts in many sizes, and the circa 1824 barn has many handmade tree ornaments, gifts, and its own honey and beeswax candles. On Saturday, Dec. 8, Lorie Alie, owner of Lorie Stuart's Hair Designs, and Vicki Martelli, owner of the Purple Rose Home Décor and Gift Boutique, both in Northborough, will team up to benefit the New England Dream Center's Dreams and Wishes Program. Ten percent of all purchases made Dec. 8 at the Purple Rose by clients of Lorie Stuart's will be donated to the program. The New England Dream Center works together with individuals and families to provide support through many diff erent programs year round. During the holidays, the program provides gifts and various activities for children whose families are undergoing difficulties, allowing them a time to celebrate together. Super Suppers in Westborough invites young chefs to climb aboard the "Kitchen Express" Friday, Dec. 28, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The cost is $50 per attendee and includes two half-size entrees, snacks, activities and a take-home surprise. Space is limited and early registration is requested. MSB announces promotion Marlborough Savings Bank (MSB) has announced the promotion of Deborah M. Campbell to AVP/Sales Manager & Branch Administrator. A 19-year veteran of MSB, Campbell began her career as a teller and was instrumental in the opening of the supermarket branch in the Sudbury Farms Market in 2000. In her new position, she is responsible for the growth and success of the bank's branch network as well as business development and exceptional customer experiences. She attended Long Island University's CW Post campus and is a campaign leader for the United Way of Tri-County, past chair of the Marlborough Hospital's annual Golf Classic and a member of the Marlborough Country Club. Santa Claus will be visiting Central One Federal Credit Union branch locations in Shrewsbury, Northborough and Auburn. Children are invited to visit with Santa and have a free picture taken with him, as well as receive a gift. Refreshments will also be available. Santa Claus will at the Northborough branch, 148 Main St., on Saturday, Dec. 8; the Auburn branch, 63 Southbridge St., on Saturday, Dec. 15; and the Shrewsbury branch at 714 Main St. on Saturday, Dec. 22.
