Menorah lighting celebrates Hanukkah

Region - Rabbi Michoel Green of Chabad of Westborough lights the Menorah at Shrewsbury Common Dec. 4 during the Menorah Lighting and Hanukkah Celebration sponsored by Chabad of Westborough to mark the first day of Hanukkah. Community members and Shrewsbury selectmen participated in a ceremony led by Green, followed by the lighting of the Menorah, and a celebration with traditional treats, including hot cocoa, potato latkes, jelly donuts and chocolate gelt.

Another Menorah is in the center of Westborough for the sixth year. A public lighting and celebration was scheduled there for Dec. 9. The Menorah in Westborough is constructed out of hundreds of cans of food, which will be donated to feed the poor.
