George G. Finan, 85

Marlborough - George G. Finan, 85, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at Wingate at Sudbury.

He leaves his daughter, Diane Spirio and her husband, David; his sister, Helen Whittemore; his granddaughter, Sandy Mc- Sweeney and her husband, Daniel; his great-granddaughter, Rylie McSweeney; his sister-in-law, Anne Finan; his godchild, Vince Brakton; and nieces and nephews.

Born in Marlborough, the son of John and Helen (Macy) Finan, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Mr. Finan was employed as a machine operator at Marlborough Wire Goods before retiring in 1975. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Marlborough and the VFW Colleary Post 638.

A funeral mass was celebrated Dec. 7 from the Immaculate Conception Church, with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Marlborough. The Slattery Funeral Home of Marlborough directed arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital Trust, 1 Autumn St., No. 731, Boston, MA 02215-5301.
