Elizabeth B. White, 87

Southborough - Elizabeth B. "Betty" (Jackson) White, 87, a 53-year resident of Southborough, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Donald White, who passed away in 1978.

She leaves her children, Marjorie White, Shirley Hart and Robert White, and her grandchildren, Bonnie and Brian Hart, Wendy Robinson, Kathy Reif, and Daniel and Lori White.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of John and Sybil (Burbank) Jackson, she was raised in West Roxbury and graduated from Roslindale High School.

Mrs. White was the former bookkeeper for Whites Hardware Company of Framingham, the family business.

She was a Town of Southborough Library Trustee for 40 years, and an active member of the Friends of the Southborough Library and Pilgrim Congregational Church of Southborough. She was also a member of the Southborough Women's Club and the Southborough Senior Citizens, and a former member of Grace Congregational Church in Framingham.

An avid bridge player, Mrs. White enjoyed summering at the family cottage she so loved on Westport Island in Maine. She was an active, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be remembered by the many lives she touched.

Funeral services were held Dec. 11 from the Pilgrim Congregational Church, with burial at Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham. The Morris Funeral Home of Southborough directed arrangements.
