Edward T. Dzierzeski, 70 Aguadilla, Puerto Rico - Edward Thomas Dzierzeski, 70, formerly a 25-year resident of Southborough, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007 after a brief battle with cancer. He was the husband of 43 years of the late Frances (Bova Conti) Dzierzeski, who passed away in 2005. He leaves his daughters, Christine Berge and Deborah Wardwell; his brothers, Stanley Dzierzeski, John Dzierzeski and Bernard Dzierzeski; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Edward and Christina Wardwell. Born Dec. 19, 1936 in Boston, he was the son of Damazy and Lucy (Sterczala) Dzierzeski and stepson of Sophie (Grych) Dzierzeski. He graduated from Boston's English High School and received a degree in business administration from Northeastern University in 1959. Mr. Dzierzeski retired as a civil servant in February 2007 after 24 years with the Department of the Army. He served as a Management Analyst at the 94th Regional Support Command from 1982 through 2001. He accepted assignment in Puerto Rico and worked as Budget Analyst for both the 56th Signal Battalion and the United States Army Garrison at Fort Buchanan Puerto Rico from 2001-2007. Prior to his career as a civil servant, he held management positions in the purchasing departments of Stone & Webster and General Dynamics. In addition, he was a veteran with 28 years of service, retiring from the 94th Army Reserve Command (ARCOM) as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1987. He had been Chief of Management and Budget. Professionally, Mr. Dzierzeski was known for his "can-do" attitude, corporate knowledge and team esprit de corps. In his spare time, he enjoyed yard work, bargain shopping and traveling. A funeral service will be held for Mr. Dzierzeski in Massachusetts at a later date. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Morris Funeral Home of Southborough.
