William P. Nephew, 76

Greenville, S.C. - William Peter Nephew, 76, of formerly of Northborough, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 at Greenville Memorial Hospital following a long fight with lung disease. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Oswalt) Nephew, who died in 1989.

He leaves his daughters, Mary Dee-Ann (Nephew) Lack and her husband, Michael Sean, and Bethany Ann Gilliam and her husband, Tony; his brothers, Gary John and Douglas Peter Nephew; his grandchildren, Trevor, Emerson and Baylor Lack and Brandon Gilliam; and nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Malone, N.Y., the son of Harold William and Florence Dee (Quintal) Nephew, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Alaska during the Korean War. He also served in the 1st of 181 Infantry Battalion, Massachusetts National Guard.

Mr. Nephew, a graduate of the Worcester School of Business Science, worked for Eastern Airlines as an Air Freight Manager for 33 years before retiring in 1989.

Funeral service were held Dec. 19 from Hays Funeral Home of Northborough, with burial at Howard Street Cemetery. Hays Funeral Home of Northborough directed arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
