A road less traveled
Northborough - Residents of Hudson Street and Boundary Street came before the Planning Board last month to complain about the amount of cut-through traffic using their roads to reach expanding retail and commercial businesses along Route 290. Years ago, Marlborough was to create an extension that would have linked Boundary Street to Northborough's Goddard Street but it's a plan that has languished for some 20 years. And, according to Marlborough officials, it's not likely to happen anytime soon even with $1 million earmarked for the project from the Federal Government.
With traffic counts on the rise, it's likely that this "cut-through" problem will only get worse.
