Newcomers club to host conservation slideshow
      Marlborough - Marlborough Area Newcomers and Neighbors (MANN) is pleased to host a slideshow presentation and discussion about local land conservation and area wildlife by speaker Ron McAdow, executive director of the Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT), Monday Feb. 4 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the auditorium on the first floor of the Marlborough Public Library.

Marlborough school holds firstever 'Band Jam'
      Marlborough - Jauro Paes, a student at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School (AVRTHS) who coordinated the event, performs with "Take Flight" during the first-ever AVRTHS "Band Jam" Jan. 25. Nine bands, coming from as far away as New York, were featured at the concert.

Date set for election of city councilor

      Marlborough - On Jan. 28, the City Council voted to move forward with a Tuesday May 6 election to elect a replacement councilor for Ward 5, vacated by Maura Navin Webster. Councilors voted to designate Friday Feb. 15 as the last day candidates can obtain nomination papers. Tuesday Feb. 19 is the last day candidates can submit them to the city clerk's office.

      Marlborough - From the banks of the Amazon River to the heart of the West African jungle, award-winning storyteller Diane Edgecomb will bring to life favorite folktales and songs about the animals and plants of these lands Thursday Feb. 21 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Bigelow Auditorium at the Marlborough Public Library.

Library hosts 'PJ Storytelling'
      Marlborough - Genesis Cepeda gets a turn reading a book she selected, "The Incredible Book Eating Boy," at "PJ Storytelling" at the Marlborough Public Library. The fun began with Children's Library Assistant Bonny Anderson reading some award-winning selections, followed by opportunities for children to read books they picked out.
