Reduced-cost rain barrels available now
      Marlborough - Wi th spring upon us, which usually means a weather pattern of rain ahead, now is the perfect time to get a rain barrel. Thanks to a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, Marlborough residents can now through Tuesday May 20 purchase rain barrels at a discounted price.

Bright find at Spring Rummage Sale
      Marlborough - Cameron Moore of Marlborough tries out the pumpkin lantern he found at the 2008 Women's Fellowship Spring Rummage Sale April 17 at First Church in Marlborough, Congregational. When the doors opened at 6 p.m., there were some 70 interested shoppers waiting to stream in. In case you missed this one, there will be another in October.

Students complete winter Med 101 internship
      Marlborough - Seven Marlborough High School (MHS) juniors recently completed a five-week "Med 101" internship at Marlborough Hospital. A partnership between Marlborough Hospital and the Metro Southwest Regional Employment Board, this is the second year the internship was available to students.

Assabet Valley art student chosen for Art All-State
      Marlborough - The Worcester Art Museum offers an annual opportunity for talented art students to spend a weekend at the museum with professional artists, staff and students from across Massachusetts. Art All-State is now in its 21st year. The application process is very competitive and includes two written components, a portfolio submission and an on-site interview.

Credit union to hold class for older drivers
      Marlborough - On Tuesday May 6 and Wednesday May 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, St. Mary's Credit Union, in conjunction with the AARP, will host a Driver Safety Program for older drivers - defined as age 50 and over. The class will be taught at the credit union's branch at 1 Northboro Road in Marlborough, in the second-floor Directors Room.
