      Westborough - A seniorladen lineup, timely hitting and solid pitching have led the Westborough High baseball team to seven straight wins, 10 victories in its last 11 games and an 11-4 record heading into play this week. "We're playing well right now," Rangers coach Scott Kittredge said.

Pollard, Severin earn Hudson Catholic athletic honors
      Region - Hudson Catholic seniors Lauren Pollard and Justice Severin received the school's athletic achievement awards at an end-of-year athletic banquet held recently at the high school. Severin, who played soccer and basketball for the Green Wave, was presented with the John Brule Memorial Award. This winter Severin surpassed the 1,000-point plateau in basketball.

Leap of faith
      Hudson - Hudson High sophomore Brian Muller kicks up sand as he lands in the long jump pit after his winning leap of 20 feet, 2-1/2 inches in the long jump in the Hawks' 134-11 outdoor track win over Tahanto Regional May 12. Muller also won the 100-meter dash and the discus. Teammate Pat Tomczyk won two events, the triple jump and the 300-meter hurdles.

      Marlborough - The Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School baseball team entered the final week of the regular season needing to win one of its two remaining games - against perennial Western Mass. power Ware High and neighboring Hudson High - to earn its first trip to the Central Mass. Division 2 Tournament in seven years.

      Marlborough - Staying power - that's what the Marlborough High softball team is looking for. The Panthers have qualified for the Central Mass. Division 1 Tournament the last two years, after going 21 seasons without a postseason appearance, but the tournament experience has been brief and not so rewarding, thanks to two road defeats.
