Peaslee students pay tribute to local businesses
      Northborough - First- and second-grade students at Peaslee Elementary School honored and thanked local businesses June 4 with a display and a 30-minute concert. The displays were miniature model re-creations of the businesses and were complete with essays, posters and photos of the establishments.

Students learn valuable lessons from mock trial
      Region - There was order in the court as students from the Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School (AVRTHS) listened attentively at a mock trial played out at the school May 7. The 25 students who either observed or participated in the mock trial were part of the school's business law course taught by Donna Groccia.

      Shrewsbury - The Shrewsbury School Committee voted unanimously to name Melissa Maguire the new director of Special Education for the district following the retirement of Ellen Meyers this month.

      Westborough - Second-graders are dressed as fireflies for their performance of the play "Goin' Buggy" at Fales Elementary School May 28. Each class played a different type of bug in the play, which is performed each year by the second-graders.

      Marlborough - Marlborough Hannaford Store Manager Dave DeJohn has announced that Hannaford Supermarket presented a check for $1,000 to Marlborough Middle School Principal Sara Lane. The $1,000 education grant is being awarded to Marlborough Middle School for raising the most dollars through the Hannaford Helps Schools program.
