      Northborough/Southborough - The undefeated Algonquin Regional High School girls tennis team used balance and depth to defeat Marlborough High, 3-2, and claim its second Central Mass. Division 1 crown in three years.

      Shrewsbury - St. John's senior midfielder Harry Murphy zips past a Shrewsbury High defender on his way to the goal in the Central Mass. Boys Lacrosse Sectional semifinal that pitted the Pioneers against the Colonials June 4. Shrewsbury won the game, 7-6 in overtime, and advanced to the sectional final against Westborough June 8, which the Colonials lost, 7-6.

      Marlborough - After two years of gradual improvement, Marlborough High burst onto the Central Mass. softball scene in a big way this season, advancing all the way to the Division 1 final, where it lost to perennial power Gardner, 5-1, at Worcester State College June 7.
