The end of an era
      Hudson - Along with the 217 graduating seniors who walked the stage at Hudson High School June 1, one more person announced his departure: Principal John Stapelfeld. Wrapping up his 29th year as principal of Hudson High and 43rd year in the Hudson school system, Stapelfeld joked that he is finally "graduating" along with the students.

Finance Committee addresses Shrewsbury residents
      Dear Editor, On May 6, Shrewsbury residents re soundingly defeated a Proposition 2-1/2 override to support the operational budget for town government. We, the undersigned members of the town Finance Committee, had supported the override, but we appreciate and respect the financial realities faced by our citizens.

      To the Editor, On Saturday, May 3rd, approximately 200 volunteers turned out to participate in the city of Marlborough's annual Project Clean Sweep eff ort. To the city employees, council members, residents and corporate volunteers who donated their time, materials and muscle, I extend my appreciation.

Residents thank scouts for marching in parade
      To the editor: Congratulations to the leaders of Boy Scout Troop One, Northborough, for the wonderful group of scouts that were marching in the Memorial Day Parade. It has been many years since the Boy Scouts of any troop have participated in the parade.
