Raiders U-14 Girls Soccer Team advances to semifinal round of Massachusetts Tournament of Champions
      Region - The Shrewsbury Raiders, an Under-14 girls soccer team, wrapped up a season worth remembering recently, capturing the Midland Area Youth Soccer (MAYS) League Division 2 Championship and advancing to the semifinal round of the Massachusetts Tournament of Champions (MTOC).

American Legion Post 397 racking up more experience than wins
      Shrewsbury - The Shrewsbury American Legion Post 397 baseball team is playing competitive baseball - although at times it's not winning baseball - for coach Frank Vaccaro. The team entered play the week of July 7 with a 4-9 record, but of the 13 games, Shrewsbury was not competitive in just three of them.

Out at home
      Hudson - Try as he might to get around the Sudbury catcher who is blocking the plate with his right leg, Hudson American Legion Post 100 baseball player Mike Ryan can't. The result was an out in the game between the two teams June 29 at Riverside Park. Sudbury won the game, 15-3.

      Marlborough - A funny thing happened to Rylan Mitter Burke while playing NCAA Division 3 college football at Ohio Wesleyan University - he found out he really liked coaching basketball. Local football fans need not worry, however.
