Hot Summer Nights program popular as ever
      Westborough - Hot Summer Nights, a program offered by Westborough's Youth and Family Services, is in full swing. While plenty of activities have already been held - an ice cream frenzy, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, a Wii tournament and Xtreme bowling - many more are planned.

      Westborough - When she first arrived at the Tanzanian school where she would spend a month, Elisha Kottler saw a group of children under a tree, being led in their lessons by a small boy. At the time, the shade under the tree was the children's classroom. And the young boy, Ramadhani, taught her, as well.

Bagamoyo children can use your help
      Elisha Kottler's journal from her month in Bagamoyo, Tanzania, is filled with the pictures and scrawls of children, along with her own notes about her volunteer experience. That's because for the most part, the children don't have notebooks or paper. They practice their handwriting in the sand, Kottler said.

St. Stephen's Episcopal Church to adopt soldier in Iraq
      Westborough - The Peace and Justice Committee at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 3 John St., Westborough, is working with an internationally known organization to adopt a soldier, male or female, in Iraq, starting in July. The parish will commit to writing at least one letter of support a week and sending a minimum of one or two care packages a month. U.S.
