Local artist featured in national comic strip
      Hudson - Suzy Becker of Bolton and Hudson has been drawing attention since the 1990 publication of her first book, "All I Need to Know I Learned from My Cat." More recently, however, she was a high-profile guest artist. From June 9 to 14 and on June 22, Becker filled in for Hilary Price, the cartoonist who draws "Rhymes with Orange.

Library launches summer programs
      Hudson - Get your space suit on and prepare to go into orbit. The theme of the Hudson Public Library's summer program is "Out of Space." Young readers will have an orbiting adventure as they fly around space delivering aliens from planet to planet. To return to earth, children will have to find their way through challenges and questions.

Students perform Shakespeare in the park
      Hudson - Prepare to be sent back to the Middle Ages as several local students perform William Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew." The performance, which is hosted by the Arts Alliance, will be held Saturday July 19 at 7 p.m. at Hudson High School and Sunday July 20 at 6 p.m. outdoors at Wood Park.

Field of Flags honors U.S. troops
      Hudson - As the church bell tolled 56 times, once for each U.S. soldier killed overseas during the month of June, Hudson resident and veteran of the War in Iraq Terence Kearney, 22, places a flag for friends he has lost, including two of his best friends.
