Local nursing program receives donation
      Marlborough - Students in the Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School (AVRTHS) practical nursing program use an automated external defibrillator (AED). ZOLL Medical Corporation of Chelmsford recently donated an AED trainer, called AED Plus, to the program.

Vocational school conference names 'Man of the Year'
      Marlborough - Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray accepts a "Man of the Year" plaque from David Ferreira, executive director of the Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators (MAVA). Murray was named MAVA's Man of the Year at the recent Connecting for Success vocational technical conference held at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School in Marlborough.

Marlborough eighth-graders get nod for varsity sports

      Marlborough - Eighth-graders in Marlborough are one step closer to playing on varsity high school sports teams. At the July 1 meeting of the Marlborough School Committee, members decided to alter athletic guidelines that currently bar eighth-graders from playing on varsity teams.
