Food for thought

Marlborough - The Board of Health is having a hard time keeping up with the number of inspections needed in ever-expanding Marlborough. The city's number of restaurants and food service businesses is at nearly 300, almost twice what it was 13 years ago. Unfortunately, the Board of Health has only one assistant sanitarian to inspect all restaurants, beaches, hotels, swimming pools and more.

While the city does its best to keep residents safe and restaurants up to code, the Board of Health has requested funding for an additional full-time sanitarian to ease the crunch.
