'Slice of Heaven' tourney in memory of Bill Goguen

      Northborough - The way Colin Adams sees it, the inaugural Slice of Heaven Golf Tournament is just the sort of thing Bill Goguen would sign up for and urge others to sign up for as well. Unfortunately, especially for Bill's wife, Judy, and his 7-year-old son, Jason, the tournament is in Bill's memory.

Charitable foundation donates to Northborough Free Library
      Northborough - Joseph MacDonough, executive vice president of Avidia Bank, presents Northborough Library Director Jean Langley with a donation from the Avidia Charitable Foundation. The foundation recently made its third installment of a three-year grant of $5,000 to the Northborough Free Library as part of the library's expansion and renovation project.

CVS reopens in Northborough
      Northborough - The new, larger CVS is now open in Northborough. The store, which opened Aug. 24, is larger than many of the chain's stores, Manager David Hathaway said, and it also has shorter shelves to allow customers to see and navigate the store better. Construction began on the building in March, after the building at the site at 14-24 West Main St. was demolished.

      Northborough - St. Bernadette Parish in Northborough will host its 16th Annual Community Fall Festival. The event will run from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday Sept. 5 and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday Sept 6.
