Southborough - In business today, it's not unusual to see a young person change careers three or even four times before the age of 40. However, there are still a few who find their passion early on and run with it. Such is the case with Morgan Duff y, owner of Hayden Wood Insurance Agency in Southborough. Following in the footsteps of his father and uncle as well as those of his grandfather Hayden Wood, Morgan Duff y has made a career out of helping people protect their hard-earned assets.

Having worked at the company since the early 1990s, Duff y found satisfaction helping clients navigate the sometimes complicated world of insurance. Realizing early on the long-term value proper insurance coverage can have, Duff y decided that he was truly cut out for a career in the insurance field and made the decision to purchase the agency in 2002.

Although his 14 years working his way up in the industry were more than most, Duff y has remained committed to learning as much as possible about the field. To this end he continued his education by pursuing a designation as a Certified Insurance Councilor (CIC), obtaining his Property and Casualty license, his Life, Accident and Health license and is currently pursuing his Advisor's license.

In addition to ongoing training, another of the keys to Duffy's success throughout his career has been the ability to ask the right questions.

"One thing that's important to me is to take the time to understand my customers and their needs," he said. "Insurance is not something that should be purchased through a quick phone call or over the Internet. I strive to be informed of my clients' full picture so I can help them manage risk eff ectively and aff ordably."

Hayden Wood Insurance is a full-service agency that off ers a full line of insurance products including: homeowners, auto/ business, commercial auto, life, disability, annuities, bonds and scheduled value property, as well as specialized coverage for recreational and collector vehicles. Realizing that every client has specialized needs, Duff y will also design custom policies for customers who need them.

Although meeting clients face to face is the first step to his business relationships, it is certainly not the end of the connection. Duff y uses several tools to keep him connected to clients including regular e-mail updates, informational seminars and regular phone outreach.

"Clients' lives change and their needs evolve," Duffy said. "By staying connected I can help them prepare for the next phase."

This level of personal attention also requires consistent follow up and client service. This is another area where Duff y does not compromise. Duff y only employs attentive, customer-oriented people to serve his clients. His five staff members have a combined 55 years with the company, two who have been with the company for 21 years each.
