Couple celebrates 60th anniversary

Northborough - LTC (Ret.) Irving T. Shanley and Florence L. (Crespi) Shanley of Northborough, formerly of Framingham, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married Sept. 6, 1948, at St. Leo's Church in Pawtucket, R.I.

PHOTO/SUBMITTED The couple has five children: Joan Shanley of Grafton, Mary Dragon of Northborough, Patti Dreifus of Shrewsbury, Pamela Shanley of Shrewsbury and Tom Shanley of Uxbridge. They also have four grandchildren: Samantha, Mikaela, Matthew and Macoy.

Irving retired from the Army and later, Computer Fulfillment. Florence has been "Mrs. Santa" for Framingham, answering children's letters to Santa for close the 30 years.

The couple celebrated their 60th anniversary with family at O'Connor's Restaurant in West Boylston.
