Helen F. Sokolowski, 86

Hudson - Helen F. (Tavares) Sokolowski, 86, died Tuesday Sept. 30, 2008 at Marlboro Hills Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late John C. Sokolowski, who died in 1999. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born in Hudson, the daughter of John and Rose (Veo) Tavares, she was a graduate of the former Worcester Trade School in Worcester.

Mrs. Sokolowski worked as a cook at Fort Devens for many years until she retired. She was a member of St. Michael's Parish in Hudson and the Lions Club in Maine, and also worked as a Soko volunteer in Maine. She and her husband owned and operated the former Soko's Lounge in Maynard for many years.

A funeral Mass was held Oct. 2 from St. Michael's Church, with burial at St. Bridget's Cemetery in Maynard. The Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home of Hudson assisted with arrangements.
