Local church to distribute low-cost food to area residents
      Hudson - Grace Baptist Church of Hudson has announced that it will become a hub distribution center for Angel Food, a discount food distribution organization headquartered in Georgia. Under the arrangement, individuals and organizations can purchase first-quality fresh and frozen food on a monthly basis for less than 50 percent of its retail value.

Drama Society presents funny 'Fools'
      Hudson - Hudson High School Drama Society actors Maddie Cecelya and Jason Faria rehearse a scene from "Fools," to be presented Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 23 to 25 at 7 p.m. at the school's Intel Mini Theatre. "Fools" is a light-hearted romantic comedy written by Neil Simon, set in a small Russian village during the 1800s.

A head start on holiday shopping
      Hudson - Margie Larsen and Helen Kilroy prepare for the Quilt Gallery, held Oct. 3 at the Hudson Senior Center. Members of Silver Threads, a group of sewers that meets at the center Thursdays at 10:30 a.m., created the items for sale, including a number of quilts, as well as aprons, bags and table runners. The next Quilt Gallery will take place Saturday Nov. 1 from 9 a.m.

Town to host annual Pumpkin Festival
      Hudson - Cool nights, apple cider, fireworks and pumpkins are a few of the ingredients that make up the town's annual Pumpkin Festival. Town officials , residents , loca l community organizations are all vying for the annual cash prize awarded to the group that brings the most carved or decorated pumpkins to the event.
