      Shrewsbury - The Pommern Village Choir from Central Tanzania will perform at the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury Saturday Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. Dessert and coffee after the singing will provide an opportunity to talk with the musicians about their songs and about their freshwater project in Tanzania.

Health Department to host flu clinic

      Shrewsbury - With cold and flu season rapidly approaching, the Shrewsbury Health Department is planning a flu shot clinic at the end of the month. The free event is open to all Shrewsbury residents that are 60 or older. No appointments are necessary, however people must bring their insurance cards with them.

Town announces yard waste collection dates
      Shrewsbury - Leaves, grass and yard waste will be collected at the curb during the weeks of Oct. 20, Nov. 3, Nov. 17 and Dec. 1 on residents' regular rubbish collection day. Yard waste must be in 30-gallon paper bags and lined up at the curb by 7 a.m. Bags should weight no more that 40 pounds each.
