Cub Scouts to hold bottle collection drive
      Shrewsbury - Cub Scout Pack 114 will be holding a bottle collection drive Saturday Nov. 15 at Shrewsbury Town Hall, 100 Maple Avenue, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. "Residents need to know that there are times that personal preferences are not what we have do and this may be one of those times," Planning Board Chair Melvin Gordon said.

Single tax rate maintained in Shrewsbury

      Shrewsbury - The Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen voted Nov. 10 to retain a single tax rate for town residents and businesses, which will be $9.68 per $1,000 for fiscal year (FY) 2009. The $0.54 increase is a result of the overall decreased valuation of Shrewsbury property.
