Marlborough - For the latest "green" products and your favorite holiday designs, the Veron Company in Marlborough is ready to maximize your landscape's potential or create your ideal seasonal atmosphere. After 24 years in the industry and with joint degrees in landscaping architecture, horticulture, floriculture and business management from Ithaca College and Cornell University, business owner David Veron has become a leader in the Northeast, providing "green" alternatives to both seasonal and year-round products.

As the holidays approach, the Veron Company's team of lighting professionals is currently taking orders, designing and installing energy-efficient LED holiday lights. David explained that he first began to look into alternative holiday lighting in response to rising energy costs and looming environmental concerns.

"We have tried to transform and evolve with the times, and with the current energy crunch we felt that it was important to go 'green,'" he said.

In his quest to perfect his techniques, David has traveled to Utah to study lighting displays and also has been behind-the-scenes at Disney World.

After researching the environmental impact of using LEDs versus traditional lights and viewing the variety of LEDs used in some of the most fantastic lighting displays, David began to invest in and market LEDs to his customers. With a few years of experience working and designing the perfect holiday ambiance with LEDs, the Veron Company has a large team of professionals ready with the latest in new colors and designs.

"We felt that it was important for us to off er an environmentally friendly alternative at the holidays," he said. "… You can still have all of your favorite lighting decorations and still be 'green' and help contribute to reducing our local carbon footprint."

LEDs with high-end commercial grade connections also provide a higher level of safety. Safety, David explained, is one of the most important components of this industry.

"LEDs basically burn cool," he said. "If you forget to water your tree and then leave the lights on all night, you [won't start a fire]."

Although the initial investment for LEDs is often more than for incandescent lights, over the life of the lights, the energy savings add up.

Despite its large size, the Veron Company offers an individualized experience for every customer in every price range.

"We treat every one of our customers one at a time with as much time and help as they need," David said. "From the initial inquiry to the installation, we give them the best service and great quality."

Located at 112 Forest St. in Marlborough, the Veron Company carries a range of tree and wreath illuminations, lawn ornament installations and decorations, roofline lighting, icicle accents and much more. They work with customers from design through to end-of-season clean-up and storage.

In order to best serve the total outdoor needs of its customers, the company has several specialized divisions, including lawn sprinklers/irrigation; bark mulch and landscape services; commercial sanding, snow removal and plowing; nightscape lighting; and holiday lighting.
