League of Women Voters to honor legislator
      Shrewsbury - The Shrewsbury League of Women Voters (SLWV) will host its Annual Holiday Tea Sunday Dec. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Asa Waters Mansion, 123 Elm St. in Millbury. The Honored Guest will be outgoing State Sen. Edward M. Augustus Jr., D-Worcester, for his distinctive service to Massachusetts.

A cappella group to appear at Senior Center
      Shrewsbury - The public is invited to a Holiday Celebration Tuesday Dec. 16 at 1 p.m. at the Shrewsbury Senior Center. The event, hosted by the Friends of the Shrewsbury Senior Center, will feature the Shrewsbury High School A Cappella Choir presenting a concert of seasonal music. Refreshments will be served.

Registration begins for winter activities

      Shrewsbury - Registration is now open for anyone who would like to participate in the Shrewsbury Parks and Recreation Department's winter offerings. This season, the town's seniors can register for Recreational Bowling, joining a league that meets once a week for three games at Town and Country Bowling.
